The bowl combines deep vertical wedges with intersecting diagonal mitres, producing a repeating wave or arcade boundary around the body.

The principal vertical cuts terminate at alternating depths. At the downward point of each repeating wave, an additional narrow vertical cut enters the diamond structure, integrating the lattice into the vertical cutting rather than separating the decoration into independent horizontal zones. This alternating sequence gives the bowl a more complex architectural rhythm than broadly comparable Lismore-type cutting.
