Collectible vintage Portmeirion Birds of Britain bread and butter plate featuring the Bullfinch, beautifully depicted with its distinctive blue-black cap, warm rose-colored breast and rich brown and black plumage, perched among naturalistic branches and foliage.
PLEASE NOTE: band is more of an aqua color than shown in the photo.
The plate is finished with the distinctive green band around the rim, a harder-to-find variation of the discontinued Birds of Britain collection.
Designed by celebrated British ceramic designer Susan Williams-Ellis, founder of Portmeirion Pottery, the Birds of Britain series is admired for its detailed natural-history illustrations and classic English character. Crafted in England, the green-band collection was produced from 1983–1997 and is now discontinued.
Measuring 7¼” diameter, this bread and butter plate is equally appealing for serving or display. Its botanical bird motif works beautifully in English country, cottage, coastal, rustic, traditional, and collected interiors.
