The oak displays pronounced grain across the broad rectangular top, while the restrained construction and gently scrolling supports give the table considerably more character than a conventional writing desk.

JUNE'S THOUGHTS
What appeals to me most is the size. At only 24 inches deep, this is one of those pieces that can go where a conventional desk simply cannot—I could see it behind a sofa, beneath a window, or tucked into a small library or reading corner. And because the lyre-shaped sides are so attractive, I would be inclined to place it somewhere they can actually be seen rather than hiding the table against a wall.
