This is a Mottahedeh “Our Maritime Heritage” porcelain dish, featuring the U.S. Frigate Constitution—better known as “Old Ironsides.”
The shaped oval porcelain dish features a finely detailed depiction of the historic three-masted frigate sailing beneath American flags, surrounded by stylized cobalt-blue waves. The softly scalloped rim is accented with navy blue, rust red, and gilt decoration, including elegant maritime-inspired motifs at either end. The reverse bears the Mottahedeh crown mark, “VA 1824 Portugal,” “Our Maritime Heritage,” and “U.S. Frigate ‘Constitution.’”
A handsome nautical collectible with wonderful Americana and maritime appeal, perfect for display in a coastal, traditional, or nautical interior.
