This striking architectural statement piece is masterfully crafted entirely from walnut, boasting rich, highly expressive wood graining throughout the structural frame and the line’s signature sculptural, vertical spindle backrest. Its grand king-size proportions are incredibly rare for this era, offering a spectacular, timeless focal point for any modern or vintage-inspired space.
This is a true vintage piece of furniture, and its condition is entirely commensurate with its age and history. The headboard proudly retains its original vintage finish, which has undergone a meticulous and thorough cleaning process to completely eliminate any trace of historical nicotine residue and environmental contaminants. Following this deep cleanse, it was expertly conditioned and waxed using premium Howard’s Feed-N-Wax. This specialized care has deeply hydrated the wood, revitalizing its fibers and beautifully brought back out the original vintage luster and warm, golden glow of the walnut grain.
As expected with authentic mid-century items, it exhibits light surface scratches, minor dings, and gentle signs of wear from decades of careful use. Several chips on the backside have been filled and are shown in the photographs. The reverse side of the headboard is unfinished as it came from the factory, clean, waxed, and structurally sound. The headboard remains sturdy and free of major defects. Original metal mounting brackets are attached and ready to connect to a vintage king-size bed frame; modern bolt-on frames or platform beds may require a standard set of inexpensive headboard modification plates (mod-plates) for compatibility.
