A beautiful set of eight vintage Arabia Finland Karelia stoneware plates featuring the collection’s characteristic warm brown banded rims against a creamy neutral ground. The earthy Scandinavian palette and substantial stoneware construction make these wonderful everyday dishes as well as an attractive addition to a collected vintage table.
All eight plates are the same Karelia pattern. Because the pieces were produced at different times, the Arabia Finland backstamps vary within the set. There are also noticeable natural variations in the hand-applied brown rim decoration, ranging from deeper chocolate brown to warmer reddish brown tones. These variations are characteristic of the pattern and give the set a wonderful handmade quality.
