A spectacular antique Italian Louis XV style longcase pedestal clock, dating to circa 1920. This striking two-piece masterwork features a removable mantle-style bracket clock elegantly staged upon its original matching tapered column pedestal stand. Perfectly capturing the opulence of late Baroque and Rococo design, it stands as an imposing and luxurious statement piece for a grand entryway, gallery, or formal living space. Artistry & Craftsmanship.
The entire silhouette is defined by sweeping, organic curves and masterful cabinet making. Both the clock housing and the tall pedestal column are wrapped in rich wood veneers, heavily decorated with fine fruitwood marquetry inlays and geometric parquetry borders. The casing is heavily ornamented with expressive, high-relief gilt bronze and brass mounts. A sculptural cherub/putto figurine crowns the apex of the clock centerpiece, complemented by stylized scroll feet, leafy acanthus borders, an exposed pendulum window framed by decorative floral inlay, and a majestic central classical mask medallion anchoring the column panel.
The Dial behind the protective glass door, the clock face is a magnificent focal point. It features an ornate, deeply detailed metallic repoussé face set with individual white enameled porcelain tile segments displaying crisp, black Roman numerals.

The marquetry decoration and gilt bronze mounts remain beautifully maintained, displaying minor signs of age and wear consistent with a century-old antique. The wood casing shows light, age-appropriate surface wear, minor clear coat checking, and faint scuffs along the base footprint. The bronze mounts retain a rich, authentic patina with minor localized tarnish. Porcelain dial tiles are completely intact without cracks or hairline fractures. Operational status is unverified; however, the internal clock mechanism appears visually complete, and the pendulum is present. No winding key is visible in photos. less
