Pieces in this style were commonly produced by mid-to-late 1800s potteries in Pennsylvania or Maryland, such as the Remmey Pottery in Philadelphia.Form and Material: Salt-glazed gray stoneware body with an ovoid shape, flared collar, and two opposing applied arched lug handles.Cobalt Decoration: Brush-applied cobalt blue slip featuring a hanging downward tulip blossom flanked by sweeping, stylized leafy swags or feathered brush strokes beneath the handles.Origin and Era: Typically dated circa 1860–1880, attributed to mid-Atlantic regional folk traditions (such as Pennsylvania or Baltimore workshops).
