The boxes are richly decorated with Renaissance-inspired foliate scrollwork, geometric medallions, and tile-like motifs in warm ochre, parchment, deep red, green, and black. Ribbed antiqued-gold sides cleverly mimic the gilt page edges of antique books, completing the trompe l’oeil effect.

Each faux volume opens on a hinged cover to reveal a generously sized storage compartment lined in deep burgundy felt. When closed and stacked, the pair has the appearance of substantial antique decorative books, making them particularly attractive on a coffee table, console, bookshelf, or library table.
