Test Glaze Bowl, c. 1940s. Matte deep-blue stoneware bowl with an experimental test glaze, characteristic of Kåge’s artistic development work at Gustavsberg. The simple, softly rounded form highlights the tactile, almost powdery surface quality. Origin: Sweden. Material: Stoneware. Dimensions: H. 5 cm, D. 16 cm. Period: c. 1940s. Condition: Fine vintage condition with minor signs of wear. Willhelm Kåge (1889–1960) was one of Gustavsberg’s most influential designers and ceramic innovators. from the iconic Farsta pieces to numerous glaze experiments, he continually explored form, colour, and material expression.
