The amber glass glows a warm topaz in the light, and the pattern reads beautifully from every angle — including the underside, where the pressed design radiates from the center (photographed). Glass is free of chips and cracks. The silverplate stand shows honest age-appropriate wear and patina to the finish, consistent with its 140 years.
Bride’s baskets were popular Victorian wedding gifts — the glass bowl by one maker, the stand by a silver company — and surviving examples with their original stands are increasingly hard to find as pairs.
