Made in Spain, this handsome, solid brass chandelier makes a powerful design statement, a beautiful balance of elegance and ornateness without going over the top. It has the solidity of chandeliers built in the 1920s-30s, before the lighter-weight creations that came out mid-century. Strongly-built with great details., it has six arms doubly-stacked with twelve lights, 72 crystal pendants and 6 long pendalogues hanging from scrolls at the top. It has an unusual asymmetrical element in the neck leading up towards the top where it spins off to one side. It is rooted in Baroque and Rococo styles.
It is 32" wide all around; it is 28" tall before the chain starts; it has another 12" length of chain and ornate brass canopy to the ceiling. It weighs 38 lbs.
It has been fully restored by our shop and rewired, only lightly cleaned as to leave the now-handsome patina that verifies it as an antique.
The numerous crystal "plugs" (as the pendants are called) refract light from all angles, giving the chandelier a glittering foundation that takes their weight beautifully.

Our shop (in the restoration business for 36 years) rewired this chandelier. We also added new ivory paper candle covers (sleeves). The crystals were replenished, as various were missing, and rehabilitated. We also added the special cast-brass type chain and canopy with mountings to complete the fixture, making it "ready-to-hang." It was given a light hand-cleaning to preserve all originality. All other features and details of the chandelier itself are fully original and in excellent condition. No visible breaks or breakage of any kind, or marring, and unevenness in its finish patina.
