19th-century Danish pine shop counter, traditionally known as a Danish grocer’s desk. This 8' tall wall unit features open display shelving above a lower section with three large cabinet doors. Originally used by shop owners to display and organize goods, the open shelving allows for flexible modern display including as a bookcase. Typical age-related stains, scratches, nicks, minor cracks, and separation (back), consistent with long use. Built in two sections for easier transportation and installation. Shelves are fixed in place. Restored strong, stable, and ready for use. Note the addition of 2 small metal braces, indicating a more recent owner attached it to the wall for added security of the tall upper cabinet.
