The cornice juts out sharply from the top and is underlined with dentil molding. From here, four carved pilasters stretch down to the bottom cabinets while framing three doors retaining their original panes of antique glass. The interior of the bookcase contains four adjustable shelves measuring 6 ½" deep, which have been more recently painted a French blue that nicely contrasts the warm tones of the stripped oak. The four doors of the bottom cabinet are framed by pilasters as well, and they feature crisp geometric paneling. Behind each door are two fixed shelves measuring 12 ¼" deep. The cabinet sits atop a plinth base, which further emphasizes the piece's weight and sculptural feel. All six of the locks are in working condition with their accompanying keys. Gently cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, ready for use in your interiors. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
