A Thomas Day style carved parlor chair, a mid-19th century American antique form notable for its distinctive woodwork. Crafted primarily from mahogany or walnut, this design blends Neoclassical and Gothic Revival influences.
Crest Rail: Hand-carved scrolling details flanking a central hallmark motif, such as an open heart or tobacco leaf pattern.
Splats & Spindles: A backrest featuring thin vertical spindles topped by stylized cathedral or pointed Gothic arches.
