Did you know that water hyacinth is a floating aquatic plant, originally from the Amazon basin? It now grows wildly in ponds, lakes and slow-moving rivers in tropical regions around the world, especially in Vietnam and other places in Southeast Asia. It is an eco-friendly natural fiber and the skilled artisan who handcrafted this beautiful piece did so using tight twisting, braiding and interlacing uniform sturdy weaves over a sturdy steel frame. Colors are naturally aged water hyacinth without a chemical finish. This beauty measures 6¾” x 14” x 14” H/W/D; interior 13½” x 13½” x 3¾” W/D/H; weight 1 lbs. 10 oz., joints are welded solid. In excellent condition. Structurally sound with excellent tight weave over steel frame. Unknown artisan from Vietnam.
