Pieces featuring this specific biomorphic, organic styling with rich metallic inclusions are typical of mid-20th-century Venetian glass mastery (circa 1950s–1960s).
The vessel is fashioned into an asymmetrical, elongated teardrop featuring a sharply pinched, pointed spout at one end. The shimmering, golden-metallic lines running alongside the pink bands are created using Aventurine glass (avventurina). Glassmakers achieve this by melting copper crystals into the molten glass mix under a precisely controlled cooling process.
The mesmerizing, tight whirlpool pattern is constructed using alternating glass canes (a canne). The artisans stretch and fuse pink ribbons, clear glass, and glittering copper-aventurine threads together into a single rod before twisting it into this hypnotic spiral.
