This gracious and whimsical beauty’s style is loosely patterned after the traditional flat Polish Tatza basket, a basket that is typically used to hold bread. The basket has a round-shape with scalloped lip and eye-catching concentric star pattern. Handcrafted using slender flat rattan weavers into a plaited pattern to form the gorgeous basket you see in the photos. The naturally aged rattan’s hues range from rich honey, amber and mocha. This beauty measures 10” x 10” x 3” W/D/H; interior 9½” x 9½” x 2½ W/D/H; weight 5 oz. In excellent condition with age-appropriate wear. There is one split weaver on the underside of a loop (see photo 7) that is indiscernible and does not affect its beauty or utility. Though the label is long gone, this beauty was handcrafted in the Philippines sometime in the 1960s; initials of maker can be seen faintly in the center on the underside. Photographed in the round on the plate stand to show all sides and nuances of its design and construction. Note, plate stand is not included.

Perfectly suited to serve as a decorative vide poche on an entryway table or as a stylish woven accent propped up on a plate stand, as seen in some of the photos.
