An antique aneroid barometer from the late Victorian era, dating to circa 1900. This scientific instrument is housed in a substantial, circular carved oak frame featuring a geometric, incised pattern characteristic of the Eastlake style. The silvered dial is marked with weather conditions in stylized black and red lettering: 'Stormy,' 'Rain,' 'Change,' 'Fair,' and 'Very Dry.' The dial is protected by a glass cover and features an exposed aneroid mechanism at its center, with a primary indicator hand and a manually adjustable brass set hand. This piece is a fine example of the blend of scientific utility and decorative arts from the turn of the 20th century.
