The wooden balls feature bone … Read more A pair of early 20th-century British Woods Lawn Bowls, complete in their original bowls bag. The wooden balls feature bone inlays with the numbers '1' and '11' opposite the initials 'R' and 'E', which are also written on the case. They were originally purchased at an Auction in Diss, South Norfolk, England, in the 1990s and brought back to the States. The heavy canvas carrying case features a hard, articulated, leather-covered handle and leather straps, a green wool or felt lining, and a divider to keep the balls from knocking together in transit. It is hard-walled and maintains its stiff cylindrical shape with or without the balls inside. Each ball is 4.75" in diameter. See less
