Chinese Export Canton Blue and White Porcelain Bowl. Chinese Export porcelain became highly sought after throughout Europe and America for its exceptional quality, hand-painted decoration, and timeless blue-and-white pattern. Bowl is hand-painted with flora and fauna with a delicately painted border and dotted rim frame. Produced in the Canton region of China, this bowl was created for the Western export market during the height of the international maritime trade. The deep blue decoration is executed in traditional underglaze , a technique perfected by Chinese porcelain artisans over centuries.
