This 1960s Young Manufacturing lowboy dresser is a striking example of the maker's sculptural mid century modern work. The long walnut case bows gently across the front, with three center drawers carrying carved, recessed diamond form pulls set into figured grain. At each end, a curved door faced with a long carved vertical pull wraps the corner of the case, and the whole dresser rides on splayed legs joined by a shaped, curving stretcher that echoes the sculpted details above.
Behind each curved door sits a concealed bank of three drawers, bringing the total to nine and giving this dresser far more storage than its low, graceful profile suggests. The three wide center drawers handle everyday clothing while the side banks keep smaller items organized, and the long silhouette works as well in a bedroom as it does standing in for a credenza.
