A beautifully hand-crafted French Art Pottery centerpiece bowl by Jérôme Massier of Vallauris, France, dating to approximately circa 1900. Raised on a circular pedestal foot, this elegant ceramic bowl features a warm mottled buff and caramel glaze enhanced with a hand-painted wildflower decoration of daisies, poppies, cornflowers, buttercups, and wheat sheaves, evoking the naturalistic aesthetic of the French Art Nouveau period.
The broad shallow form is finished with a rich chocolate-brown glazed rim and pedestal, creating a striking contrast to the softly textured ground and colorful floral motif. The underside bears the impressed "J. Massier Vallauris" pottery mark along with an incised "Décoré Main" (Hand Decorated) inscription, confirming its authentic hand-painted decoration.
An attractive and highly decorative example of Jérôme Massier's celebrated Vallauris production, ideal as a centerpiece, fruit bowl, or display piece for collectors of French Art Nouveau ceramics.
