High-quality, authentic French Art Nouveau bronze vide-poche, small tray, trinket dish or "empty pockets" dating between 1860 - 1912. This piece features of a dreaming woman with long, flowing hair that seamlessly transitions and dissolves into nature. Beautiful detail, with great depth. Made of solid cast bronze, quite heavy, 3 1/2 pounds. Marked with the initials "RL" enclosed within a small oval, Francois-Raoul Larche a french Art Nouveau sculptor.
Historically, this would have been placed on a entry table to hold keys and coins, or on a vanity table for hairpins and jewelry.
