A striking and highly individual large-scale stoneware bowl by Danish ceramicist Inger Rokkjær, executed in her characteristic raku-firing technique. The cylindrical form is distinguished by a richly textured exterior glazed in deep iron-red and burnt copper tones, revealing subtle variations and smoky nuances created during the firing process. In contrast, the interior features a soft ivory crackle glaze with an intricate network of crazing, lending the piece remarkable depth and visual complexity. Balancing sculptural presence with refined Scandinavian simplicity, the bowl exemplifies Rokkjær’s mastery of surface and form. Its generous proportions and dramatic coloration make it equally compelling as a functional centerpiece or as a decorative object displayed on its own. Handcrafted and unique, this vessel showcases the unpredictable beauty inherent to the raku process, where no two examples are ever alike. Signed "IR / 2003".
