The timepiece is signed across the center of its dial by the noted clockmaker and jeweler Benjamin Baldwin, who was active during the late Georgian and early Victorian eras. Housed in a robust case constructed primarily of solid oak, the clock displays a rich, warm honey-brown patina. The woodwork is distinguished by extensive quartersawn detailing along the trunk door and base panel, showcasing the highly desirable "ray fleck" grain pattern that adds depth and texture to the timber. Geometric, contrast-grain diamond inlays adorn both the arched trunk door and the lower plinth, adding a refined decorative touch to the clock's stately silhouette, which stands firmly on traditional bracket feet.
