Baumalu French Tinned Copper Sauté Pan with Lid, Cast Iron Handle, Made in Alsace, France, 6.75" Diameter, 1 Quart
We found this at the Marché aux Puces on a cold Paris morning, on a table crowded with lesser things. It stood out immediately — that particular warm rose of well-aged copper, the square iron handle of the lid sitting perfectly plumb, the Baumalu stamp pressed clean into the body. We picked it up, felt the weight, and it came home with us.
Baumalu has been making copper cookware in Baldenheim, Alsace since 1971 — not automated, not outsourced. Craftsmen validate every piece at every stage. The copper walls are solid, the tin lining intact, the cast iron handle original and true. Six and three-quarter inches across, just over two inches deep, one quart capacity. The right size for a reduction, a pan sauce, anything that demands your full attention and deserves the best possible heat.l
The patina is honest. This pan has lived. It is ready to live again.
Sourced at the Marché aux Puces, Paris. Made in France.
