This highly tactile piece by Maitland-Smith, has an all-over, repeating quatrefoil diamond and cross lattice motif seamlessly wrapping around the cylindrical body and continuing across the flat lid. The design features substantial depth, with polished, cream-and-honey-toned bone tiles precisely inset against a deep, ebonized dark horn mosaic background. The lid centers around a radial bone starburst medallion crowned with a turned bone finial knob.
Collection Provenance: This piece belongs to a single-owner, matching luxury collection originally acquired together on the same day from an upscale estate in Nantucket, Massachusetts. While the fragile paper inventory tracking tags on this particular item have naturally worn away over time due to handling, it is a guaranteed, authentic Maitland-Smith production.
