They are each different on … Read more Offered is a set of 9 wheel-thrown glazed stoneware plates made in the late 1990s.

They are each different on the surface depicting swirls, splotches, and biomorphic shapes, while the colors are the same done in a blend of earth-tones - shades of brown, copper, and gray, and a hint of black referred to as Tenmoku (a general term referring to iron reduction firing to achieve blacks and browns.) The plates are signed on the bottom, however, we have been unable to identify the potter and cannot read the signature.

While perfectly safe for serving food, we recommend hand washing and drying with a cloth to preserve their sheen. They would look spectacular hung on a wall or framed in shadow boxes to display.

They each measure approximately 10.325" in diameter and range between 1.325" to 1.5" high along the rim. See less
