From Wedgwood, a scarce Cobalt blue majolica glazed Pickle Plate, date marked 1879.
From the English Aesthetic Movement Era, and in the Japonisme taste, six teardrop shaped wells, each showing a different pickled vegetable, are separated by long handled three-tined forks. A clever design for the time.
An outstanding example in both the color and the crisp mold work - for the discerning collector.
Marked: Impressed Wedgwood, and a faint date letter H for 1879
