This handmade studio ceramic piece features an organic crackle-textured center in rich gold tones with an ivory craquelure border and dark brown rim.

The plate has a striking Brutalist and biomorphic aesthetic characteristic of California studio pottery of the early 1960s. Five small sculptural protrusions rise from the textured surface, giving the piece a dimensional architectural quality.
