This iconic "Karlskrona" wave chaise lounge was designed by Carl Öjerstam for IKEA in the late 1990s and has since become a highly coveted piece of Scandinavian modern history. What makes this piece so special is its beautiful organic shape—the sweeping, sculptural "wave" silhouette serves as a functional lounger while looking like a piece of art in any room. It brings a perfect touch of warm, bohemian texture to living spaces, sunrooms, or reading nooks.
The entire chair is expertly hand-woven using high-quality natural rattan and wicker over a sturdy, concealed iron frame. The natural blonde/honey tones of the plant fibers have aged beautifully, showing a warm patina.
It is in excellent vintage condition with an incredibly tight weave. There are no split strands, fraying edges, or broken wicker along the curves, which is rare for this model. The authentic original white manufacturing tag is still fully intact and attached to the underside of the frame.
