These richly … Read more A striking set of ten vintage Myott “Chelsea Bird” dessert or tea cake plates made in Staffordshire, England. These richly decorated English porcelain plates feature colorful exotic bird motifs accented with ornate gilt scrollwork and deep burgundy panels around the rim.

Each plate measures approximately 6 7/8 inches in diameter, making them ideal for dessert service, tea cakes, pastries, berries, or layered maximalist table settings. The bird scenes are signed “A. Robert,” and the pattern includes beautiful decorative variation throughout the set.

Two different Myott hallmarks are present on the backs, indicating the plates were likely produced across adjacent production periods. Based on the marks and decoration style, the set appears to date circa 1920s–1940s.

These display beautifully with English cottage, traditional, chinoiserie, or collected vintage decor styles.
