This silver plate shell shaped dish has an image of Neptune in a very Rococo styled crest with shell and wave motifs.
Most likely made by FB Rogers in the mid century, it is larger than a candy dish, so was probably used for serving or decor. Today, we love it in a coastal home filled with natural shells which are included. It could also serve as an oversized catch all.
The bottom has self feet which enable the dish to sit flat on your surface.
The makers mark was probably a foil sticker which indicates its age. Foil stickers became widely used around 1960.
This is a wonderful item for any Hollywood Regency or grandmillenial decor.

There are a couple of small spots of wear in the plate on the inside surface. They are hardly noticeable and commensurate with age and use.
