Condition & Preservation
Textile Condition: Excellent, bright vintage condition with vibrant colors and entirely intact hand-embroidery.
Museum-Safe Mounting: The textile is safely hand-stitched (lace-mounted) to its backing board. This professional, museum-safe preservation method avoids condition-harmful adhesives.
Note on Mounting: A single mounting thread at the outer edge has been clipped, but the textile remains structurally stable, pristine, and securely anchored flat to the board.
Glass & Framing Note: The protective glass was recently damaged and has been cleanly removed. The piece is being sold flat in its existing mat frame without glass. This makes it completely safe to ship and perfectly primed for an easy frame refresh or a quick drop-in glass replacement at your local shop.
Craftsmanship & Design Details
Central Field: Rendered in colorful, dense silk satin stitches on a luminous, salmon-peach silk ground.
Outer Border: Meticulously worked in traditional pan jin xiu (盤金繡 / gold couching), utilizing fine metallic gold threads anchored to a black satin background. The pattern forms stylized lucky bats (fu) for good fortune interlocked with ancient cash coins for prosperity.
Inner Frame: A delicate geometric lattice border worked in blue and white silk threads.
