Classic … Read more This Truly is an Exceptionally Beautiful, Rare & Very Fine Quality Pair of Antique Fancy French Made Ladies Binoculars. Classic Victorian Era - Circa Mid 19th Century ( 1860s ) - Civil War Era. Intended Use - Horse Racing - Operas - Theaters Etc. The Bodies are Done in the Well Documented Limoges France Enamel on Copper Style with Finely Detailed Hand Painted - Decorated Assorted Flowers Surrounded with Raised Beaded Enamel Features. NOTE Also the Real Silver and Gold Hand Engraved Highlights Under the Transparent Enamel. The Binoculars are Primarily Made of Gilt Brass but the Eye Piece Sections are Made Out of Genuine Chocolate Brown Gutta Percha. They Also Have a Hand Carved Bone Finger Rotating Focus Adjustment Wheel Etc. They Have No Maker or Other Markings but They are Definitely French Made. They are in Excellent Overall Cosmetic and Functional Condition and They Display Beautifully!. There is Some Gold - Gilt Wear from Use Over the Years. There is 2 Very Minor Imperfections - Enamel Inclusions ( Really Not Noticeable ) - 1 on Each Side Front Lens Perimeter on Areas - These Can Best be Seen in My Last 2 Photographs in the Listing.
