This is a beautiful, authentic piece of Victorian-era stoneware featuring the classic "Doria" pattern by John Ridgway. Dates to 1844, this large shallow bowl (or soup plate) showcases a detailed black transferware scene of a classical Italianate villa, lush landscapes, and figures by the water, all framed by a distinctive wavy geometric border.
