The piece depicts a charming courting couple in a lush, bucolic landscape, complete with grazing sheep and period architecture.

Technical Craftsmanship:
Unlike standard machine-woven tapestries, this is a hand-finished trammé (trammed) needlepoint. It was worked over a color-coded wool "map" on a double-mesh Penelope canvas, resulting in incredible detail and a dense, durable textile. The reverse side clearly shows the original horizontal trammé guide threads.

History & Use:
Acquired as a custom seat cover for a Duncan Phyfe side chair, this piece retains its original square format and raw edges. It is a perfect candidate for high-end upholstery, a custom pillow front, or professional framing as a wall accent.
