Marked on the reverse “J. Johnson Bros – Made in England – Ironstone,” these plates were produced by one of England’s most respected pottery manufacturers. Founded in 1883 in Staffordshire, Johnson Brothers became known for their strong, vitrified ironstone designed for everyday use while maintaining a clean, elegant aesthetic. Their Heritage White line remains especially popular for its versatility and classic, undecorated look.
