Crafted in Philadelphia in the Chinese Chippendale style in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the American Revolution, hence the name Centennial.

Claw and ball feet, needlepoint chair seats in wool in historical flame stitch pattern, needled by sellers in 1980. Bought by seller's mother Anne Y. Wolfe, Chinese Export Porcelain and Tall Clock expert at the Winterthur Museum and Library (Henry F. DuPont mansion in Wilmington, Delaware) from a friend in Kinnock (?) Square Philadelphia c. 1977 and given to sellers.

Sellers' current dining room seats twelve and they have used the splendid, storied antique chairs alternatively with contemporary, upholstered side chairs painted by French artisans while sellers were living in Paris 1990-1993.
