This double handled pedestal bowl by Royal Doulton in the "Watteau" pattern showcases a charming pastoral scene inspired by 18th-century French painter Jean-Antoine Watteau, framed with an intricate floral and geometric border.
Crafted using the blue flow glazing technique, the design allows the blue pigment to softly bleed into the surrounding white ceramic for a beautifully blurred effect. This double-handled pedestal bowl, often used for serving or as a fruit dish, dates back to the late 19th or early 20th century, possibly as early as 1860.
