It shows a classic and elegant Victorian style, with a pinch-waist mahogany case, and decorative columns.
The bonnet has a broken arch pediment with 3 finials, and hand carved details on the sides.
The top glass door opens to a Moon Phase and brass composite dials, with brass filigree on the face of the clock, and a silvered chapter ring with brass hour numerals, a seconds hand, and a date subdial.
The bottom glass door opens with a key (included) to the two weights and pendulum that features a metal rod with a brass faced lead bob.
It has an 8 days mechanical German movement, which only requires winding once a week with a crank (also included). It keeps a fairly accurate time, and strikes on the hour and half-hour with a pleasant cylindrical chime.
The base to bottom extrudes raised on lion paw feet to front.
A name plate is located in the center of the arch of the time dial, engraved with “Daniel Pratts Son, Boston”.
