The turquoise are securely bead set, and the silver bead settings can be seen rhythmically popping up to hold the cabochons in place. The turquoise are a vibrant blue with some slight variations to their color—just enough to offer a bit of visual intrigue and to indicate that the stones are natural. On the back of the pendant there is a glass panel and silver frame that can be opened so that the pendant can be used as a locket. Circa 1880, this is a beautiful example of a keepsake or romantic gift that would be given to a lover during the Victorian era.

The pendant measures 1 3/8” x 3/4” (including the bail) and weighs 4.7 grams. The turquoise cabochons measure 2.75 mm each. Unmarked; acid tests as sterling silver. See less
