This listing is for an antique French clock. The clock dates to about 1870 and is of extremely high quality.
The clock is by Japy Frères & Auguste Jacot & Cie. It features a crystal regulator design with portico style case. Most crystal regulators are square and are much smaller. This one is extremely large. The casing is made from alabaster stone with metal ornamentation. 2 large pillars adorn the the sides and the top has a large chalice form accent. The front and the back are bordered with large glass, allowing one to view the pendulum swing. The dial is made from white porcelain.
The clock has a 15 day movement with time and strike. It was last serviced in 2019. It ran and chimed when recently tested.
The clock measures about 29.5 (height) x 18.5 (width) x 8 (depth) inches. This is an unusually large size for this style of clock.
Chairish sells clocks solely to be intended for display. The mechanical elements are not guaranteed to be in working order by Chairish
