Produced in Japan and dated 1976 (MCMLXXVI), this set is from the original production run of the iconic "Coquille" collection. Unlike common flatware, these plates feature a highly dimensional, sculpted scalloped design in a sophisticated palette of creamy white and soft, hand-painted peach.

Each plate is masterfully crafted to mimic the organic texture and curvature of a natural scallop shell. The underside of each piece features the authentic "FF" incised mark and the original 1976 copyright stamp. This specific "figural" style is a hallmark of Fitz & Floyd’s high-giftware era and remains a designer favorite for "Coastal Chic" and "Grandmillennial" interiors.

Condition:
The set is in very good vintage condition overall.
Seven (7) plates are in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or visible wear.
Four (4) plates show minor signs of wear consistent with age, specifically a few "fleabites" (tiny, pinpoint-sized nicks) located on the underside of the base rims. These are entirely localized to the bottom and are not visible from the top when the plates are set on a table.
No significant crazing or staining is present.
