Very large and unusual vintage mid twentieth century starburst wall clock, cut from a sheet of 1/4" thick lucite, with … Read more Very large and unusual vintage mid twentieth century starburst wall clock, cut from a sheet of 1/4" thick lucite, with a battery powered motor. Complete with a second hand that keeps time in good working order. Measures approximately 34" wide and high at outermost ends. No maker marks except for an embossed JAPAN mark on the motor, which apparently is a replacement for the original motor, given that there are 3 holes in the center of the clock that are difficult to see, in which the original motor was likely mounted. (See pictures). The 3/4" diameter balls mounted on the ends of the arms are black painted wood. The numbers on the clock face have been cut from the same 1/4" lucite sheet as the body and painted black. It's possible that the clock was studio or garage made. A most interesting and rare sputnick era collectible. See less
