The hand-painted floral/enamel decoration and turned … Read more This is a mid-20th century decorative brass balance scale, probably Italian, dating roughly 1950s–1970s. The hand-painted floral/enamel decoration and turned wood base make it a decorative tabletop object than a true apothecary or merchant’s scale.
This piece would be perfect as office or shelf decor. We love it for an entry table to hold keys and other small objects.
The bottom has a stamped mark which does not appear to be a makers mark of any sort.
They are sold separately, but the scale makes a nice companion to our brass ink well also listed in this shop. See less
