This listing is for a 19th century Austrian grandfather clock.
The clock features a wooden case with ornate carved baroque-revival style detailing. It is complimented by a 2 tone dial with matching engraved weight and pendulum. The base opens to reveal a cabinet.
This clock is of very high quality. The movement is by Johann Salfer of Vienna, Austria (signed on movement and dial). This type of clock is referred to as a "long duration" clock as it was made to run for 90 days. Most clocks at this time ran for only 8 days. This clock runs on a single weight.
The movement was last serviced in 2021. It ran when recently tested.
The clock measures 27.5" W x 14.25" D x 96" H. Measurements in inches.
The clock base can be separated from the waist/trunk of the clock, allowing for easy transport.
