The Dulong relief was designed in the 18th century under the direction of Johann Joachim Kaendler and was named after the Amsterdam merchant Dulong, who was an important dealer in Meissen porcelain. The decoration belongs to the so-called 'broken' reliefs and is often distinguished in two variants: Old Dulong and New Dulong, filigree, raised lines with tendril cartouches, often combined with fine flower and bird painting.
