It has beaded curlicues decorating the sides. Side chains allow the top section to hinge out for access to the sheet music. It is a marvelous example of superb Victorian design, frilly yet graceful. It is the only one I have seen with the musical stanza woven into it. It also could be used to hold books or magazines. See less
